New Exchange Place Plaza design is right for Jersey City
βThere has been extensive debate regarding the renovation of Exchange Place Plaza for many years from many sides. That is now changing based on the Planning Boardβs 5-0 approval this week. Residents, visitors and businesses in and around Exchange Place correctly expect the plaza to be improved to the dynamic standard of the entire neighborhood and realize the potential of our beautiful waterfront. However, all progress is a series of compromises. Many people held vastly different views as to what the plaza should be. For example, green space vs. the ability to host large public gatherings, safety concerns, new amenities for the growing population, pedestrian vs. vehicular access and, lastly, how to appropriately incorporate the Katyn Memorial into the plaza.β
Jersey City announces annual 4th of July fireworks celebration with concert headlined by Flo Rida
βNew Jerseyβs largest Fourth of July fireworks display is returning to the Jersey City waterfront this year. Mayor Steven Fulop on Wednesday announced this yearβs Freedom and Fireworks all-day event will include a concert headlined by Flo Rida, with special guests Shaquille OβNeal aka DJ Diesel and Fun Flex, a massive fireworks show by Grucci, food trucks, and family fun.β

American Equity buys 15 Exchange Place on Jersey City waterfront for $48M
βHartz Mountain Industries sold 15 Exchange Place, a 136,000-square-foot boutique office building on the Jersey City waterfront, to American Equity Partners for $48 million.
Originally built in the early 1900s, the 11-story 15 Exchange Place offers office space above ground-floor retail space. The building is 71% leased to a diverse tenant roster comprising financial firms, data consultants and other professional services firms. The retail component of the property is occupied by a Starbucks and Potbelly Deli.β
